History
From local joinery to European Group
The history of Ballingslöv starts way back in 1929, when Albin Svensson founds a joinery named Ballingslövs Träförädling. By means of targeted efforts in good times and bad, kitchen furniture from this
small community in Northern Skåne soon becomes a byword throughout the whole of Sweden. Its visionary approach and commitment mean that the company grows along with Swedish society. Soon the company has been transformed into a nationwide operation, with several top-selling ranges of successful products in its portfolio.
In 1974 is acquired by the white goods group Electrolux. Here Ballingslöv soon comes to form the core of a cabinet division, and in the late 1980s the first step is taken towards the creation of today’s Group.
In 1989 the worktop producer dfi A/S in Denmark is acquired, and in 1990 Kingfisher Wood Products Ltd in the UK is bought.
In 1998 Ballingslöv is sold by Electrolux to the venture capital company EQT. The business is organised as a Group, now with the parent company Ballingslöv International AB.
In 2000 the Danish kitchen manufacturer JKE Design A/S is acquired.
In June 2002 Ballingslöv is launched on the Stockholm Stock Exchange’s O-list of the time. As a publicly listed company, in February 2003 the
Group buys Danish kitchen manufacturer Multiform A/S, and in April 2005 Denmark’s second largest kitchen company, Kvik A/S, is acquired.
2006 sees the addition of the Danish worktop manufacturer Geislergruppen A/S, which is acquired in November. In January 2007 3BO A/S, a Danish manufacturer of storage products, is acquired.
Ballingslöv is now an international Group in the field of kitchens, bathrooms and storage solutions, and is one of the major players in the European market.
In connection with Stena Adactum taking over about 80 percent of the shares through its buyout offer in summer 2008, Ballingslöv was de-listed from the Stockholm Stock Exchange in December 2008, and trading in the share continues instead on the Alternativa trading platform.
